In this talk, Dr. Schwarz will discuss two critical elements to the success of organizations - creativity and innovation.

Based upon some emerging evidence in the lab, he will discuss how creative teams differ from non-creative teams and the implications for managers.

The talk will conclude with a discussion of the importance of building an innovative capacity in your organization and how to make creativity and innovation central to the culture in your firms.

Dr. Andrew Schwarz

Dr. Andrew Schwarz is a professor in the Stephenson Entrepreneurship and Information Systems Department in the E. J. Ourso College of Business Administration at Louisiana State University.

Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Andrew completed his undergraduate degree at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he majored in social psychology and minored in sociology.

Following completion of his bachelor's degree, Andrew worked in the market research industry for Fortune 500 firms, crafting research aimed at developing advertising campaigns for both new and established products and building models to forecast future trends in the consumer space.

In 2003, Andrew graduated with a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Houston.

Andrew has been recognized as a top business leader in Baton Rouge and honored with multiple teaching and service awards locally and across the globe. He is currently is on the MBA faculty at LSU and is ranked in the top 1% of the globe in terms of research productivity in top tier academic journals.
