"Sarge" Summers

Sarge served on active duty in the United States Army from December 1970 until January 1992. He is a Vietnam “Era” Veteran and retired as a Sergeant First Class or as he likes to say, “A First Class Sergeant.” He received the Meritorious Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and numerous other unit awards. Two of the units that he served with were the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Bamberg Germany, and the 7th (Light) Infantry Division in Monterey, CA. Also, he served as an Instructor for 5 years at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN.

Upon retirement from the United States Army he went to work for MATRIX Service Company in Tulsa, OK. He then worked for HMT Tank Service for 11 ½ years in operations and eventually moved into sales and marketing. On January 17th 2005 he accepted a position as Manager of Business Development with CAPE, Inc. In June 2008 he accepted a position with Specialty Tank Services (STS).  Sarge started his own oil & gas consulting business on December 7th, 2015, 22 days shy of his 63rd birthday.  The company is called Sarge’s Industry Solutions, LLC.

Sarge has served on the Executive Board of the West Texas Safety Training Center in Midland, TX. He was also an active member of the Nashville Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Post where he served as 1st Vice President. In 2009 he served as the President of the post. He is a member of the American Legion, AUSA, Oilfield Christian Fellowship, Oilfield Helping Hands, Houston Pipeliners, Tulsa and Oklahoma City Pipeliners, and a Committee Member of the American Petroleum Institute (API).  Sarge has worked in Royal Rangers (a Christian mentoring ministry to boys ages K-12) for the past 44 years and has served at the Outpost, Area, Sectional, District, Regional, National and International levels. He currently serves on the South Texas District Staff and as the Director of Development for Royal Rangers International (RRI). On March 19, 2008 he received the SAME Regional Vice President’s Medal for “outstanding service” to the society.

Sarge graduated high school in Nuremberg, Germany and has attended colleges and universities all over the United States including Midland College in Midland, TX and Vincennes University in Vincennes, IN. He has 146 semester hours of college.  Sarge has been married to his wife Sandy (Freeman) Summers for the past 46 years. They reside in Oakhurst at Kingwood in Porter, TX. and have 3 adult children, Misty, Jason, and Jeremy, 8 incredible grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren that all live in Texas.  In 2014 Sarge was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Service Award (LSA) from Royal Rangers Alumni (RRA).
